Oregon

Oregon

A Poem by Hannah Paige

Do you remember Oregon?
the trees
and Alison Krauss
and dried mango
and the black and white film
and the trees

The only time we drove in the dark
was the night you told me
about your mom
we made it all the way
to Long Beach that night

Leaving Seattle
I had this feeling
that I'd never been anywhere
like this before

The night we sat by the fire
and you hugged me in my giant sweatshirt
was the same night
I think
That I dragged you out of bed
to look at the stars

I didn't tell you I loved you then.
I'm telling you now.

A very beautiful and wistful memory, lovingly remembered. Very nicely written. Thank you for sharing this.
