The lonely table

The lonely table

A Poem by Savannah Gossett

There once was this table

He had a family

And a home

Even if they weren't the nicest

The table felt alone

Alone because his family where people

Alone because he couldn’t talk but only think

The table was never used

Just in the corner of the room

Waiting for the dust to occur

But why was he really alone

He has stickers and scratches on him

His only friends where the chairs

The chairs that waited to be sat in

The chairs that couldn't even stand

So was he alone because he was a table

Or was it because of the people who owned him

To this day that alone table would never know

Just to wait for his next torturing family

I liked the logic of the poem dear Savannah. A lonely table, near and forgotten. People can be treated the same. The poem gave something for the reader to ponder. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
