Nightmare

Nightmare

A Poem by HardCoreReFusion
"

This is about believing in someone so much that you thought they would never be the one to hurt you.. and being wrong.

"
Not long ago I woke up
Sweating, but breathing
[The future burns bright with monsters out of sight]
Relentless to let go of your thieving
Won't close my eyes again
Fearing this is just a deeper dream
[Could I be free from you or dreaming of such]
For which I'm not sure to scream
I don't know what to make of the new light
It plays tricks as all light does
But I believe in it simply because
This isn't your nightmare.
Like a drug, I thought you were the best
But rejecting doses, I was a mess
Until I found out that you were the worst
Shed you like a snake; no longer cursed
But you still eat small, little pieces
It's getting better with time
reduced your damage down to the leeches
your grasp on my feelings fading out like a rhyme
The horror in the world you made us..
Can words even describe the captivity?
You appeared to give me everything
But how obvious when compared to what I needed most
So as I lay awake, sweating, but breathing
I know that there's no more deceiving
Small rays of light have danced my way
And forced the world of terrors away and at bay
Even though this sword is as sharp was yours
I believe in it's purpose and more
for
This is not your nightmare.
No, I escaped from that :]
