Seven Seas

This is a romance poem about how one finds happiness after falling in love.

Seven Seas

 

 

 

I felt I was drifting in a dream

No one to talk to, no stories to tell

I felt I was sailing the seven seas

Until I met you that sunny day

And you smiled on saying ‘Hello’

 

I felt I was roaming in the dark

Though all around was broad daylight

It felt like night upon the seven seas

Until you came and took my hand

And we fell into a warm embrace

 

Now I can hear the birds singing

I can smell the scents of roses

Loneliness no longer follows me

Since we fell in love that day

 

No more am I roaming in the dark

No more does loneliness torment me

No longer am I sailing the seven seas

With you beside me, the future is bright

Thank you. Actually you read this poem more accurately than I anticipated from any audience. As such, many salutes. The character in the poem is indeed trying to discover the mystery of love and eventually finds it.
