His Love

His Love

A Poem by Madhu
"

When two people love each other and things seem perfect and goes as planned. Destiny is something nobody can be aware of.

"
His Love

I close my eyes, your face has become vague

I knew I’d never forget you, so why does it fade?

You gave me goose bumps with your first touch

I loved you unconditionally and so much.

The first time, I felt that I wanted to kiss you

Right then, you said you had that feeling too

Sometimes, I did wonder if he’d actually read my mind

For me, his love was so perfect and divine…

We shared dreams of being together

Of a love that would definitely last forever.

Travelling the world and having cute babies

His love was like the eternal smell of daisies…

He broke my heart, he inflicted a pain

I discovered that he lied and cheated, that left me in vain

He said he was sorry for what he did

And promised that things that bother me would never repeat

His love so strong, so full of compassion had melted my heart

I forgave and thought we’d give our life a new start

Little did I know that people don’t change

My heart, once full of love, was now left completely drained.

His love once so benevolent, made me love

His love once so infuriated, made me cry

His love can never be erased from my life

His love, now has no face in my life.

UR welcome, make sure you RR me when you post:)
As always HazelHarts - I have a theory - !!
The face that hurt is so painful to be recalled that the mind actually seeks to protect the Self by gradually blurring the image stored in the brain. Mind uses Brain to protect Self.
Imagine you had a best friend who had access to a filing cabinet wherein all your memories were kept. Imagine you kept going to the cabinet to retrieve and romanticise someone who hurt you. Imagine your best friend saw you in pain each time and decided to pour water over the picture. Not so you'd notice - not all at once - but eventually the photo would spoil.

My stupid ramblings aside - this is such a bittersweet poem. It really affects. The final line is simply devastatingly sad. Well written Madhu

A sad story of love in the poetry.
"His love once so benevolent, made me love
His love once so infuriated, made me cry
His love can never be erased from my life
His love, now has no face in my life."
Love will test us. Make us bleed and can make us dance in rain, knowing joy. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
