Brother

Brother

A Poem by Madhu
"

Having a brother is a boon in everybody's life.

"
Brother

Dear Brother,

You taught me to be strong

Defended me when I was wrong

For every mistake, you gave me lessons

And always inspired me to pursue my ambitions

When as mountains seemed my trouble

You’d help them perish and treat them like a bubble

You always told me life is harsh

And taught me never to lose my heart

You treat me as a Princess

And train me like a warrior

I find you when I have nobody by my side

You’ve held my hand throughout my stormy nights

Dear brother, I love you so much

No amount of “Thank You” could ever seem enough

For what you mean to me can only be felt

I will love you till the end.

If you genuinely mean what you have written here, both you and your brother are truly blessed. This is more an adoration poem than a love poem methinks, N

Thank you :)
A wonderful tribute to your brother. It is written in a very simple and fluid language.

I liked th simile used by you here:-

"You’d help them perish and treat them like a bubble"

Really brother or a sister plays a role of paramount importance in one's life.

WOnderful poem! Bravo!

Keep writing

So true these lines are!
"Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet."
Your poem is extraordinarily simple; yet outstandingly emotional ! :)
I have a brother and we only fight! : You made me realize that there is indeed love hidden in those
kicks and slaps! :P
