Everything I Want

Everything I Want

A Poem by Justonesentance
"

There is a quote that says that if marriage were a book, the first page would be poetry and the rest would be prose. The following poem is from that page.

"
I want to see you in the morning, to tell you how pretty you look.

I want to make you breakfast in bed, so you don’t have to cook.

I want to find your biggest fear, and help you conquer it.

I want to be silent and content, and for us to just sit.

I want to know your favourite joke, and tell you a thousand more.

I want to look up at the stars, lying down on forest floor.

I want you to know I’m there, will never leave your heart.

I want be there at the end, although I wasn’t at the start.

Author's Note

Justonesentance
This poem is sort of designed to invoke the "awww" response, but is almost too saccharin to bear; it speaks of the soppiness that guides loves first moments, the very same feeling that makes small children pretend to put their fingers down their throats.
