Sparks

 

Sparks

We warmed our beings

in the flames  of burning 

passion with

sparks in your eyes

alive with longing

searing into mine

have now dimmed

 curling smoke enveloping

time in a heavy grey

cloak of recrimination

I gaze at the last glow

of logs destined to

become dead ashes again ~

i admire how you stayed with your metaphor. Sitting in front of a fire is such a comforting scene ... a dash of ignition ... motors running ... a bump in the road of some kind and the transmission has gone out. :))
so relatabel ... so very much a part of human living .. ashes to ashes of the heart eh!? :( and i feel for your speaker ..as in your closing she says ".....again" ... :((((((((((((((((((( pic is perfect fit says i! .. strong metaphor, universal and relatable
