A Poem by Andre Peterson

Give yourself a direction and follow it. The only way is up.

Life is like a mountain.
A snow peak tops its giant stature, and still have a long way to go.
You never know what you will find on your journey.
The people you will meet.
Cold alone and looking for a friend.
The ones who will find you, just as you feel yourself slipping, they are the ones that hold on.
Imagine the things you will see from the heights.
Breathtakingly beautiful skies and country sides
Or another way to look at it.
More mud than you care trek through.
Some days the winds will blow.
Harsher than ever before.
You will slip and fall.
But never to far behind where you need to be.
Never so alone as you think.
And as a you stand and look up at the mighty climb ahead of you you shall think.
Of years past and how far you have come.
Of many years ahead and how far you will be.
But only if you keep on climbing.
Blistering hands and muddy shoes you ascend.
Poking your head through clouds and shouting out your victories from the stratosphere.
For some, momentarily alone.
But not completely.
And here is a secret from someone who has just reach the peak.
Take a look up.
Theres another mountain to climb.
See you there.
