Countless Miles

Countless Miles

A Poem by Vincent Iannaco
"

I decided I wanted to start writing poetry so here is an early attempt. They don't have it, but this is in the form of a tanka

"
From so far away
Through lengths of fields and forests
I lay inebriated
For even countless miles fail
To sober me from your grace

I don't often see tanka poetry, but this is very nicely done.
I never seem to have the right words to try one of these myself, so I usually only ever try the format of the haiku, which I find easier.
I'd be interested to see more of this type of poetry, though!
Great work!

It does work, Vincent! It's a nice "tanka" .. There're very few people, I've seen, who write "tankas" but I read this one and it takes me away to the world of memories where I see the past old time through the haze of my mind some happiest or memorable moments of the life. Nice work!
