HEARTBREAK

HEARTBREAK

A Poem by Star

Why does love sometimes sit on our chest and lacerate the heart?

The salt dripping in her eyes

The bleach burning fires

Her eyes are a dried desert

A hot summer sun

Blinded from the scars that have laced them

The moon is the lighted path at night

Over a funeral piece

In the dark she hides all the words that hang on the hinges

of her heart...soul...mind...mouth...

In the night she hides behind a charcoaled face with her

bottle of whiskey....

Her mind is a clouded sky

She drips into the earth her weeping spirit

It is not love that is doing it, it is the person who misused loved.

A fine little piece of writing.
