Dream

Dream

A Poem by HollisAnn Harrison
"

Song inspired by the song "Carnival of Rust" by The Poets of the Fall

"
I see
In a darkling sky, the storm and the rain
Your face
Screaming "don't you turn away from me" and
I know
When I look I'm gazing out into the darkness
I see
My reflection in a broken mirror

Your eyes, so pale and gone
Like the moonlight of a thousand years passed
They know the pain of all my years
Let the rains tonight wash all of my tears

This burning dream
Is not what it seems
You can't believe
That I'm still enshrouded in the darkness
This yearning song
I'll sing along
'Til you're safe within my arms

I dream
Of a world where the colors are in contrast
The shades
Of the roses, they are black and gray, but
You know
My heart, so full of light, is gleaming
I dream
Of a world where colors are so bright and

This world so dark and hellbound
I know it will soon be spellbound
Your eyes, they haunt me deeply
Like the pain of (a) thousand splinters, I see

This burning dream
Is not what it seems
You can't believe
That I'm still enshrouded in the darkness
This yearning song
I'll sing along
'Til you're safe within my arms

This burning dream
Is not what it seems
You can't believe
That I'm still so far gone...

This burning dream
Is not what it seems
You cannot believe
That I'm still enshrouded in the darkness
This yearning song
I'll sing along
'Til you're safe within
'Til you're safe within...
'Til you're safe within...
'Til you're safe within!
'Til you're safe within my arms!
