A Poem by Holly M. May

It's funny how I think of you,

Always wishing,

Always hoping.

I wished you cared about me,

I hoped you often thought of me.

It's funny how you enter my mind,

Without a specific reason,

Without any relevance.

Through my day you'll pop in my head,

My heart starts pounding,

My lips start smiling.

I hoped,

I wished,

I dreamed,

And imagined.

How our dream would have played out.

But now we know,

It will never happen.

Never to be held,

Never to be kissed,

Never to be entwined fingers.

Now it's time to forget that dream,

The dream of being yours.

For now I know,

For sure this time.

That the dream will never be ours.
