Our Nights

Our Nights

A Poem by Holly M. May

In my darkness there is only one light,

Your dashing smile shines through the fallen tears,

And our passion ignites the darkest night.

I was lost when you saved me from my plight,

You hold me tightly squeezing out my fears,

In my darkness there is only one light.

How do you make everything feel so right?

Even as you whisper soft in my ears

And our passion ignites the darkest night.

Your presence satisfies my sweetest delight,

Lips that meet for a kiss as the sky clears,

In my darkness there is only one light.

When I’m with you my body is in flight,

We shudder and kiss, we moan in sweet swears,

And our passion ignites the darkest night.

Here we are entwined in sinful delight,

Our heat and passion will warm us for years

In my darkness there is only one light,

And our passion ignites the darkest night.

i like the way you use the repetition of lines and rhyme scheme, it gives a certain kind of depth to the poem. It would interesting to see how the use of slant rhymes would affect the poem. It was a great write and i really enjoyed reading it.
