Give me to the summer breeze

Give me to the summer breeze

A Poem by Gee
"

One final walk together An oldie updated 28/02/20

"
It's time my love you lived again
removed the widow's black,
leave sorrow for all yesterday's
invite happiness "come back"

So don a dress of pastel hues
paint a smile upon your face,
walk me for a last time dear
to my final resting place.

Take me to the highest hill
give me to the summer breeze,
to gently fall on lush green grass
'neath the shade of aged trees.

Then take your leave, live again
let another share your heart,
as I will love for eternity,
we will never truly part.

This really touches the heart so much. I can be very hard to move on after a loss but eventually we need to live dor ourselves again. But we can still hold loved ones in our heart and memories in our heads forever.
Such a beautiful piece of writing.

Thank you Miss Pepperweb
Painful. Dripping with regret, sorrow, and near hopelessness. A "Life's Love" lost. That is immeasurable. That is beyond redress. Only time can melt the misery away to a lesser, but never vanishing, state.

Another powerful write, filled with loss and pain.

Best regards,

Rick

Beautiful rhyme, Gee. We try to keep our lovedones from pain. What can we do to comfort them when we are gone?

Mmmmm,I'm hoping to pop my clogs first!!!!Thanks for reading/reviewing,appreciated
I would definitely consider leading with the third stanza here my friend - 'Take me to the highest hill...etc" - it has such an impact - the title is beautiful - a really beautiful scene setter.
The idea behind the piece - reminded me a little of one of my fav films (in it Richard Dreyfuss doesnt get to ascend into Heaven until he does one good deed - it just so happens that good deed is to fix his widow up with some guy).
My favourite of yours so far mate - so ethereal and filled with devotion and love.

Love the classic feel of this poem. Although the lines vary in length, most of this is in an iambic meter, that makes it flow along, on your gentle breeze. This is very romantic write, because although it deals with death, it deals more with "I love you enough to want you happy, despite my death." There is great imagery here, and also a sense of the spirit at peace.
This one is going to my book shelf, I like everything about this poem.

Beautiful and sad! Love have you wrote it from the loved one who has past on ...showing what they are feeling ..wishing them to move on and not be sad!
