Somebody's Daughter

Isn't every woman special no matter the life choices they make.

A few came to unburden themselves
seeking nothing but an ear and dry shoulder,
as they knew that here, in her rented room with cheap peeling paper,
mildewed skirting and threadbare carpet
secrets would be held as safe as in any confessional.
Others came to act out long held fantasies,
fantasies perhaps frowned upon by their wife, girlfriend,
or perhaps never discussed, as these viewed as taboo by society.
And then there were the lonely, the shy,
those who only ever experienced laptop intimacy behind drawn curtains
in badly lit bedrooms, believing porn to be reality.
But all that visited had one thing in common,
they gave no thought to the woman, the daughter,
the person to whom they were at their most open, honest, intimate with.
Because in their eyes her only worth the payment left before leaving.

The pawn. The all in all to many yet respect should go to the one who 'rocks the cradle'. She has suffered much under the hands of critics but there has to be that softer side to someones daughter. What I am trying to say is, where is the respect due to the bearer of humankind - the cradle that nurtures? Thank you for this recognition Gee.

That is so true, for children as well. For all our knowledge old vices and abuses never go away. The best we can hope is to keep them from being the norm.

Makes people view what they once saw as an object as a person who is entwined in our community. Perhaps they don't want to recognise her as a person because of the shame on their part, coming to her services.
