"You'll never walk alone"

"You'll never walk alone"

A Poem by Gee
"

Mum 04/12/1936 - 09/04/2019

"
The anthem of the Kop, once stirring, uplifting,
now brings sadness, tears
and visions of her small coffin
atop which red and white flowers silently proclaim her name.
Amongst these sits a small brown teddy bear
that once resided on the pillows of her bed.
Bedecked in the colours of her beloved Liverpool FC,
it looks forlornly out at a myriad of tear stained faces,
as if it too is struggling to come to terms with her passing...

A very moving poem,Gee. I have not heard this song. I'll have to have a listen.
Your every little detail fits so perfectly here in this poem, and with obvious love.

Such a constant reminder for your terrible loss Gee, like you'd ever forget anyway. I still have to bite back the emotion of being present to hear Gerrymandering himself lead the crowd into the most unbelievable football moment of my life, when Celtic met Liverpool in Europe. Now look where you are, European champions (belated congratulations on that BTW)
You can also see that on YouTube under Liverpool celtic YNWA.
The pain you feel is the mark of the woman and all she meant to you, and many more. We can only do our best to hope we will be remembered the same.

Cheers Edie, cried like a child when it was played at the funeral :)
Sad and tender and yet joyous, the Hillsborough Massive would be touched by your poetry, and hopefully, finally, , someone will be held accountable, you will never walk alone,

One day blame will be laid where it should be.

This offering is the product of a grief yet young. Things related to a person's life become touching reminders of their passing. May the pain of this particular passing soon become revered memories.

Awesomeness Gee! We love our football here and the Steelers here symbolize the last gasp hopes of an industrial city when all of the mills closed here lots of folks were displaced. When they had to leave town they took the Steelers with them, a unifying thread of A larger family connection across the states and beyond:) I buried my stepmother with her Steelers terrible towel and her Wisconsin Badgers pin on her blouse! Great and evocative write Gee

You are ( and will be) reexperiencing those last moments of your mum, Gee. The sense of loss... loss of that precious person grips heart from your poignant poem. You have been on my mind on this Mother's Day morning, wondering how you are coping. Wishing you strength, love and all the best.
