Dying for Spring(Autumn)

Dying for Spring(Autumn)

A Poem by Gee
"

Simple words on a season's change

"
November days come dull and drear
as summer lost and winter near,
with mist and cloud becoming one
to veil from sight a waning sun.
Whilst on the ground warm pastel hues
are mulched beneath man's boots and shoes,
to rot and meld with mother earth
this season's death then springs rebirth

My favorite season is Fall and, you've showed the transition quite well in this piece. ....this season's death then springs rebirth. Great line! Very nice read, Gee. Temp

Loving the meter. Great use of rhyme without the words being forced. Simple rhyme scheme, but poem was far from simple. My favorite lines, if I had to pick, would be the ones with "hues" and "shoes". Hey, I'm no expert by any means, but the piece never stuttered. Great stuff!

Lovely! This has a really nice rhythm to it... captures that late autumn feeling perfectly! I love the way you foreshadow the coming of spring just at the very end.

Reminds me of an Alien movie.

(the first one anyway)
I might be watching it with a, sociopathic eye so, don't hold it against me.

(does everyone but Ripley die at the end)

Gotta say that I have never watched Alien, perhaps should give it a view.

It's an oldie but goodie.

They don't make em like that anymore unfortunately.
gotta love the seasonal quickie, three months of enduring cold soon to be upon us, I'm a spring chick to be sure, my favorite, then Autumn, then summer and then winter in that order, I read somewhere that the birth date of Jesus is actually August 21st but due to winter being more convenient to celebrate as folks are usually finished with summer and fall harvesting it was moved to December, just as the sabbath being moved to a sunday for convenience, I wonder if this can be proven somehow, but then would we then have all those pretty fir trees reflecting on the pristine snow. Doubtful.

Nice rhyme.
Not overwritten.
The kind of poem I cannot write and appreciate when I come across a well written one.
