Grief

Grief

A Poem by Gee
"

Have become well acquainted with grief this past 6 months

"
Grief

The pen, the page, they welcome you
the heart though not at all,
as misery's your companion
each time you come to call,
though misery, or so it seems
does with our muse sit well,
gives clarity to train of thought
as words our heartache tell,
to those that too have loved and lost
have buried, mourned and cried,
and too have stained the pristine white
when cherished ones have died.

They say misery loves company. I don't care for the company of misery myself. I don't have time for grief. I need to get on living. Life is short. Love hard and learn to let go, that's my motto. I enjoyed the read. F.

Thank you FGF
I felt the pain in this poem. Losing someone is the hardest thing that will ever happen and grief indeed is that unwelcome guest that knocks on your door unexpectedly. Really enjoyed reading this.

Thank you:)
Grief is not a welcome guest indeed. If there was no grief, I wouldn't care if I never wrote a single word again. Losing a loved one is death in itself. Many times over. Such relatable words...

You're Welcome!
Yes my friend. The below lines are true.
"though misery, or so it seems
does with our muse sit well,
gives clarity to train of thought

Life is a steady teacher. We will learn, we will outlive our mentors and we can't escape the sadness of the goodbye. Thank you Gee for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Thank you sir
A Sunday morning quickie, you say? If so, it confirms something I have experienced. The best poetry emerges spontaneously sometimes, as if one were taking dictation. This one captures the nature of grief well, for misery is indeed your companion until it has decided to depart.
