Ordinary Pleasures

Ordinary Pleasures

A Poem by Honeypot

When life is heavy and
Breathing seems hard
I wish you a day of
                Ordinary pleasures,

A cup of coffee that you didn’t have to make,
                                A windshield already scraped,
                Traffic that is nonexistent,
A day without complaints and
A kind word from a stranger.

You deserve a lingering kiss on your lips,
Twinkling eyes and smile just for you,
Arms to wrap around you and
A night full of sighs and throaty giggles
                With secrets just for two.

When life kicks you the hardest,
I wish you a perfect day of
                Ordinary pleasures.

That was very beautiful and thoughtful. Just some of the wonders that we take for granted that make us happy and surround us all the time, if we are lucky. I especially liked "You deserve a lingering kiss on your lips,Twinkling eyes and smile just for you, Arms to wrap around you andA night full of sighs and throaty giggles With secrets just for two"

Very nice, my large hearted wifey!

I did not see much that was ordinary about this
poem. I thought it was exciting, arousing and
creative.
Thanks,

I like this. That is a life philosophy, to just enjoy the small things. Well written.

I loved your poem..ordinary pleasures are the most lovely forms of joy in life..so easy to ignore and takes so much of sensibility to appreciate their beauty as they should be..the flow of the poem was lovely as tender as sand flowing through one's fingers..you have put it very well..just with the words needed.

What amazing empathy for another and what a gift to give to someone! This is true love and the best one can offer, just ordinary pleasures! Enjoyed the flow and simplicity of verse.

Devotion and consideration. Beautiful and heart-felt.
Again, you have ended with he beginning and it works wonderfully. I may discover this is your signature.
This method can also be described as a "blessing."

I simply love these tender, wondrous wishes. You let us know that it's often the ordinary pleasures that can bring about amazing joys... and certainly a sense of peace.. Thank you for sharing!

This is soft and warm and filled with the gifts of ordinary pleasures. This is a second cup of morning coffee daydream after ...

A night full of sighs and throaty giggles
With secrets just for two.

Loved this ... thanks for sharing.

What beautiful well wishing!

You really emphasize the little things. Like a cup of coffee you don't have to make. A kind word from a stranger is a very good example. Everyone walks away smiling... even though it may be a goofy smile haha.
Having that kiss, the twinkling eyes, smile and arms to wrap around is an awesome feeling. All the best parts! :D

Ordinary pleasures should be present in everyone's day. This is an ordinary pleasure for me today. Very uplifting. Puts a smile on the readers face no doubt :D
