Humanity

Something i wrote a long time ago.

What becomes of us

When all sense becomes meaningless

When induced pity becomes that of loathing

When diminishing respect falls below that of any possible repair.

 

Is this humanity?

This pain that stalks us

Fear to trust and experience to distrust

Just a spectator of this crude insanity

To what end are you.

 

So where does all the honour lie

Buried deep in the grave of the earth

Sanity dwindles on a fine thread

A beacon of light for a world now coated in dread.

 

Where is all the sanctity and unity?

Pushed away to peer alone in a darkened corner

Honed by factors outside their control

Decisions ripple, destroying fragile habitats.

 

Blackness inhibits and disillusions you

Purging soul from body

Changing who you are

Wrenching from you your being

 

Is this humanity?

Is this how we have evolved?

To intentionally loose control

To inevitably scorn the hearts of those you find dear

To become emotionally invulnerable

To burn the ground you tread

Cause genocide with the air you exhale

Massacre with the actions you take

 

No

 

This is not humanity

This is raw remorseless, callous inhumanity.

is this humanity indeed - what have we become - so much we see around the world - the pain and distaste and this is supposed to represent our more advanced cognition and developments - yet some things still so primordial - nice musings!

well, unfortunately, the humanity is a library in almost all the books are read... heedlessly read. The humanity is in archives... May someday the human-kind get the actual definition of 'humanity'...
This poem goes straight to the heart though it presents a sensitive realistic problem if it's not a curse. stunningly written with a touch of authenticity and innocence.

Got to take a step back and take a look at ourselves sometimes to understand just what we are doing. Sadly some won't do that and even sadder is some will and won't see what they are doing...
