Looking for Answers

A Poem by R. J. North

I prayed that God would bring me someone
Maybe my other half
I prayed that God would hear me
These desperate prayers my bath
My soul has become restless
A sort of draining uneasiness
This loneliness washes over me
It makes it hard to breathe
God are you there?
I am filled with despair

I long for companionship
A sense of belonging
The only inhabitant on this ship in the Dead Sea
I live an invisible existence
Where no one sees me
God I am drowning
There is no safety

God I have sought you
Your answers are said to be true
But God I can't hear or even see you
Whether my trust is in God or man
I find myself quickly sinking in quick sand

Nowhere is safe
My mind has turned on me
God I'm fumbling around in the darkness
Your light I cannot see
But God I hope you understand
I'm still looking for your hand
Your love and your light
In this desolate night
God I don't know what to do
But I'm trying to hold on to you

I find this poem extremely relatable to most of the people living on this earth. They often find themselves wondering where they could find God, where His helping hand is. But truthfully, He lives in our hearts and that is where you will find Him. Other than that, its ability to make people relate with it is what makes it all the more interesting. Nice one :)
