The Prettiest Poison

The Prettiest Poison

A Poem by Hoshi Nami
"

7-21-2010 i resent cg.

"

They describe it as a creature that comes with no notice

and scratches and burns the inside of your belly until it claws

its way out of your mouth and into their face

when there is no love left

My resentment was different.

I felt it growing-

a small bud planted, unseen-

Fueled by sadness and disappointment

Anger and desperation.

The tendrils grew over my veins

until there was no love left

I begged to be free of it

to rip out the roots.

But I knew that if I did

you would be gone too

because there was no love left

to save us.
