I Am Me

I Am Me

A Poem by xXxCynicalWarsxXx
"

Who I am...

"

Within myself I am struggling to find the light

Within my mind I am going insane

Within my heart I love only others but not myself, not my God...

I miss who I used to be

Sweet and naive

But now I am dark and painful to see

Horrid to the naked eye

Dying to know what is inside!

Am I empty?

Am I full?

Am I known to you as the horns of a bull?

Save me from myself!!

Please!

Save me from the one who says, "I am Me."

I was intrigued by this one. The spelling of "naive" is fine.

~this ending deserves more exploration. it's an esoteric topic. The "self" we think of as "I" is actually the ego, which tries, successfully, to convince us that it is us. Your expression of understanding and desire to be "saved," suggests you will be. :-)

Very touching poem. I feel that way a lot of times, "I miss who I used to be".

There's only one error and that's the spelling of the word "naive".
