Ghost's Dream

Sometimes I have this dream where I'm just lying on the seafloor. It's so peaceful that I really wish it were possible to stop time and just lie there.

I want to sink

To the bottom of the sea.

A stone,

Watching the fish swim by.

 

I want to lie

On those dark grey stones

At the bottom

Of the dark sea floor.

 

I want to escape

From this mundane life.

Grow gills, grow fins

Leap into the water

And swim forever away.

Interesting. I had similar dreams though mainly of soaring through the sky. Once or twice my wings falter sending me spiraling to the ground but I always stop beforehand.

I liked the last five lines the most. We all need a break once in a while and for most of us it can only happen in our dreams.

A soft, breezy little evocation of a dream of freedom. The whole piece I think has an aquatic, peaceful, wistful and cooling feeling to it. It sounds almost like a quiet prayer floating off unheard and answered...
