A Poem by Ayisha Upshaw

"
I can't speak much on our ending,
But I could tell you how we started.
And how somewhere in between
The boundaries that we broke
And the mountains we couldn't move
Were the homes I had built
In the holes of the excuses
You used to rationalize your resistance.

I carry your words like
Weights tied around my ankles and
It's never taken me so long to
Get from one place to another.
If only you could bookmark
Pages in conversation
Maybe then you could reference to
When I told you I wouldn't Fall in love
So I could show you where you convinced me it'd be okay.

This is a wonderful piece of writing. Speaks so much truth to those who get heart broken and wonder where things went wrong. Awesome.

This is poetry.
"I carry your words like
Weights tied around my ankles and"
The above lines. Amazing. Your poetry led the reader to logical ending. Words make us want everything and sometimes words can kill the mind and the heart. Thank you Ayisha for sharing the excellent poetry.
