Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning

A Poem by ICE

Sun Drift

And moonlit

Away away

I sift

Through broken bags

And dreams

That fell through

Empty and so full

Of promise

That it hurt

To see

The hidious nothingness

Left behind.

A small token

Turned into selling

My soul

Just for a glimpse

Of something more

To life than this.

This was fabulously universal and in tune with today.. so many feel sad, guilt-ridden.. like sellouts in some way.. chasing dreams to have the rainbow dissipate before one could reach the pot of gold.. that's what I felt..

IT is sad.. powerfully so too.. so many have had maybe too high of dreams is what I have seen.. making it almost self-sabotage.. as even if you reach the top of a mountain.. you still have to have the resources to stay atop.. and/or climb down without falling.. as well as not knowing what lays atop..or can know if they will be able to breathe and enjoy the thin air.. great job!

I love it, it flows so unevenly and yet fluidly.

Something funny about the line...
" I sift
Through broken bags"

I like it it but I don't know if it fits?

I love the metaphors...so descriptive of the pure emotion that underlines this work. You truly have a way with words Ice...I have said it about your work time and time again.....Brilliant! Simply Brilliant!
