My Heart and My Soul

My Heart and My Soul

A Poem by IceDragonOfPluto

Stay still my beating heart, release these chains
That bind me to your ever present face
That haunts my days and nights with endless pains
Of knowing a truth I can not embrace;
Oh siren temptress of my obsessed mind,
What more could I give you when you have all?
I've left all that I am and was behind
For you to keep, and yet, it seemed too small-
Oh I admit, I was a fool to give
My heart and soul to you. You took away
Everything, and I am left to live
With memories of fonder yesterdays,
But when I last looked in your eyes, I know
That you longed for me; my heart and my soul.
