Moonlight Shadow

Moonlight Shadow

A Poem by Lynda

Silvery Moonlight Under the Stars

A dark shadow enters to reveal a girl

Who’s hair was white as the moon’s

Who’s skin seemed to glow

Her eyes were like sapphire

Her cloak had turned from ash black to silver white

She moved towards the water

Her reflection seemed to move closer with each step she took

Then she stopped

To see herself in the water

A cool breeze went through the air

And a leaf fell into her reflection

Blurring the image

The girl cried silently as more wind came

She fell to the ground

Weeping

Crying

Not silently anymore

She looked up at the moon

Mad

Angry

She stood up

She shouted at the peaceful moon,

“I hate you! Why did you….Why”

Her madness turned into tears

As she fell hard on

Hands

And Knees

Onto the ground

She wept in the moonlight

She cried until the moon set

Then she put her hood up and went back into the darkness

To hide

Until the next full moon would come

She is the unknown

Who is never seen

Or heard

But just exist
