Mortal agony (writer's block)

Mortal agony (writer's block)

A Poem by Rob Santana
"

I don't know what to write...

"
I was born with a shattered heart
fresh pain and suffering drips within me
internal tears drown my soul
my spirit, chained to eternal poison
I walk through darkness
embracing fallen stars,
dropping
to my hands and knees,
I struggle to rise
to a shattered life.....
but I do manage to RISE

you definitely rise through the words you put on the page, Rob...
there is true feeling in what you write...no unnecessary frills of form...you just lay it out like it is..and it works...

Thank you very much. I appreciate you stopping by.
I like how your poem makes you taste the dirt but feel victorious at the end.. it's like living an entire life, the struggle and the prize.. I apprentice the Rise.. For respect is earned by a man on his feet and lost for a man who refuses to get off his knees. Glad to see you over your writers block, nothing can stop your pen brother, not even you.

Hahahaha, thanks Ana.
What a break through from the clutch of writers block my friend. This is an amazing write... Perhaps one of the best I have read from you. The thing I love best ... Is that you do rise, you always rise. From what I know of you, your strength is of steel. You do amaze me that you can get through the dark times in your life the way you do. Just amazing. Good to read your heart again, Rob.

Thank you very much Kalypso. Your words mean a lot.
If this is you with WB then Im impressed !
these lines Rob -
"internal tears drown my soul
my spirit, chained to eternal poison
I walk through darkness
embracing fallen stars" - if your writers block is a big chunk of mud then these are a diamond already polished and risen to the top

great work

This speaks to me as something very familiar. Although you are clearly sharing with me that it is getting in the way of you and the relation towards your writing. I sense the presence of shadows swirling around and the manifestation of them. At times we seem to go in and out of places like that. Maybe for reason we can understand but sometimes it is not clear to us. Yet you share, You speak, You let go the more you do the more it will flow undoubtedly. Like the knight walking through the long dark night of the Soul as feeling profoundly alone thorugh the absence of light feeling in exhile until what needs to be created a new is found.

Thankyou Rob

Hoping clarity will come.
