The Impossible/ Never GoneA Story by AinkNever Gone Isray found it on the wall. It was the writing. At first, she just found it annoying because it would not come off of the wall. Then the words spoke to her then she found it annoying. She scrubbed it off with soap and water, then with rubbing alcohol, magic eraser, then acid. No matter how hard she scrubbed at the words they were never gone. No matter what chemical she used on the words they were never gone. And what did it say on the wall that made her finally so unsettled? There on the wall, it was written, ‘You are but a grain of dirty sand. One grain of sand used to build their castle out of thousand of grains.’ Mellow told Isray not to worry about it because it would never be gone and that he did not notice it, nor did anyone else. But how could the writing be written on the wall for so long and its truth never be noticed? Is that why it was never gone? © 2021 Aink |
