Green Eyes

Green Eyes

A Poem by Inner Rain

"

His eyes are green in the sun,

A deep green that looks brown in the shadows.

Like the colour of the leaves,

During the last days of autumn and the first days of spring.

Escaping the winter chill,

    Melting the shimmering ice.

They are beautiful, far more beautiful than I.

For his eyes glisten in the sunlight, and all mine can do is hide.

' For his eyes glisten in the sunlight, and all mine can do is hide.'

There is gentle but specific emotion in your word; no frills, no drama, but sincerity, start to finish. Your words have been laid carefully, not wanting to exaggerate ye ~ your poem whispers a reason for noting time and its promise. Beautiful.

We often see the beauty in others that we don't see in ourselves. I suspect he has the same thoughts when he looks into your eyes.

I liked how it was so delicate...so real.
One thing that appeals to me in a poem is its authenticity...whether the feelings they convey come from a real source...if a poem manages to do that, it turns beautiful.
This one is beautiful. :-)
