Broken Sail

Broken Sail

A Poem by Mark
"

Damaged souls finding one another. Story of my life.

"
Tell me I'm too good
for your broken spirit.
Ask me if I care.
The late autumn wind urges me on.
It's song of unwinding telling me
I am close to being done.
I want to take it to the world,
to set out sails unfurled,
leave on the beach all that doesn't matter.
but you; my broken child of grace.
Beautiful, mind and soul
find the tears and mend them all.
while I sail through calm and storm
searching for someone whole and warm.
Reflections of connections
severed and given broken form.
Let the ocean heal those wounds
sail on and run through that storm.
I'll mend what is broken in me.
show me where it hurts in you.
Let me bandage what I can see,
and make us both sail true.

Hi Mark, in the middle of war on two fronts right now. But trying to make time for WC after being attacked over my other account. This piece is one I relate to instantly. It is full of pathos and in recent years I have met so many damaged souls in need of repair.

Yes, I seem to attract them, or perhaps I should say I seem attracted to them. Thanks John :)
The healing power of the elements of nature is unsurpassable. Close to nature, life's hurts and pains seem surmountable. Great expressions of love, sharing and caring...

Thanks k you for reading. :)
We are all damaged in some way. Sometimes we find that person whos scars are familiar to our own and a connection forms. That understanding of our mutual pain can lead to a relationship where we help each other heal and cope. Theres a softness in this Mark...glad you shared it here...

I am revisiting this piece and old wounds... it's therapeutic...

You write with an open heart... and the ocean is the best medicine...

Mending hearts through words...that's what you do...~xoxo~

full of sentiment and what better setting for it than sailing the sea, a different kind of love but none more stronger than the love of a child.

Thank you sweets. I wrote this a few years ago for a childhood friend of mine.
Willing to take on one with scars. This poem is full of different roads which leave open interpretation. I love the strength you have for her. Good write. You are the stronger vessel.
