I know

I know

A Poem by Mark

I can't break free of my own microcosm to immerse in the macrocosm.

Stuck on the treadmill, the terrible and lonely ecstasy of knowing,
its a thirst and hunger to want to know more,
and knowledge satiates but...

it refuses to digest, it grapples with my mind
tears my heart, freezes my soul.

I want to know, I want to burn, I want to...
share and not feel so

alone.

There has to be someone who can see, who can share. Someone who can sooth this fire.

So much time I waste looking for oblivion, and
I have so little time left to waste.

I have found that dependable comfort is only found within. Knowing this I can interact with others and not want anything from them. Freedom for us both and I think this attractive:):):)

We are prisoners of a sort of our personality, our soul maybe. It gets in the way sometimes. Thanks .. read more
This poem is so powerful, Mark, beginning with the first line! And the last two lines! and everything in between. Your poem reflected many of the emotions I have been experiencing lately. I have been thinking about my own mortality, and am saddened by just how much time I have spent looking for oblivion, and increasingly aware of how little time I have left. I have realized it's time, long overdue time, to break free of my own microcosm, and rediscover the world around me and to share my little world with others. At least that's what I see in your poem. It's a frightening thought, but we must at some time choose to do whatever the heck we came here to do, and to share with someone, and the someone share with us as well. So as we love so are we loved.

The first line- LOVED it. Someone will surely see and share and soothe the fire. Keep up the good work.
