What if I Died in Your Arms?

What if I Died in Your Arms?

A Poem by Chemical Kitten

Imagine all my blood is swirling
In a crimson pool around your toes
That my breath is coming quick
My life is coming to a final close

Here is your last chance
What are your last words to me?
Do you spin me a tale of love
Or of a revenge bittersweet?

My life is on the line here
What is going through your thoughts?
Are you wishing that it wasn't so
Or hoping you won't get caught?

There isn't much time left
My world is fading to black
Will you tell me that you love me
Or pull your knife out of my back?

My initial thoughts where an emo alert but the more I read the more I enjoyed this poem. My breath coming quick" the imagery to me was that of a quick huffing of air. Very ghostly in my minds eye. The whole poem kind of controls the reader as a friend and enemy. I liked it. I felt jerked around but in a good way. I think I'll shelf this one.

I like how you tied in the betrayer, and the lover, into one situation. It's a very interesting shift in position. Great write Kitten :)
