May be forgotten.

May be forgotten.

A Poem by Intothemilkyway

She said ,
"You'll remember when i'm gone."
These words remind me of the time
we were together.
Nothing less nothing more.
But i'm lost now.
I can't do a single thing.
So he said.
Sad and lonely , continued ...

Repeating.

One phrase
That's all it was.
But in the end...
"You'll remember when #### is gone."
echoing that ephemeral moment
We shared, held together

Nothing less, nor more
Unspoken: without breath
To convey
our grief//my solitude

Amaranth regret haunting
What I've become
Lingering within
Your distant nebulous
Eyes//Refracting
Cadenced verse of
Fractured waves
Upon black-shored
Mnemonic tides

A singular word
An evermore lament
Forsaken
In erstwhile embrace

Intothemilkyway
This is a collab i did with Nusquam Esse which i deeply thank a lot for accepting and participating on it.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did working on it.
You can see how well our minds connect with each other and made this masterpiece.

Enjoy? Such an incredible collaboration, two minds certainly in sync.. but. such a sadness within the mass of finely laid words. To write in such harmony shows such like-mindedness. No need to 'feel the way; because you've shared it. I don't choose a phrase or couplet when reviewing a collaboration.. :)

I agree with emmajoy's assessment of this collab. But unlike her, I want to pull out s few phrases: Your distant nebulous eyes, the 'cadenced verse, the fractured waves, the mnemonic tides... ech of these epithets arrested my attention and captured the feeling of a broken relationship, of sad parting, of a lingering emptiness.
I was further intrigued by 'amaranth regret'. I didn't know what this meant. I looked up amaranth as I'm nor familiar with it. It seems to be a plant you eat with a possibly toxic edge - for which reason it is banned in the US. Maybe this was the intention of the image... If I knew what the taste of amaranth was, I would no doubt understand better. I'd like you to unpack what you had in mind.
There is a special satisfaction when minds connect. There is a sadness when they disconnect.

There is a lingering sadness throughout these lines. Remembering someone when they are gone, remembering hopefully the happy times and not dwelling in the valley's depths.
