Cinderella Glass Shoes

Once i leave i put my Cinderella Glass Shoes

and the magic begins.

It feels like a dream, no, more 

Like reality.

Just before the time stops,

I want to still stay at that place 

That place where You & I exist 

Loving each other endlessly.

Hm mm Hmm I sing

"So this is love "

But i know

Now i know 

I beg to the stars in the sky 

That this would last 

Even if just for a bit

Before midnight

Before i wake up

A little miracle 

I beg.

But it's hopeless

The clock dings

And i wake up 

Even so

I wish it all come true.

Once i remove my Cinderella Glass Shoes

The clock moves forward

And it takes me back 

to that dark reality 

to my dark room

But i see some spark

Out of my window 

It's the stars

Even at day they shine.

I know that this fantasy

I can relieve 

once i put my shoes and go on 

with my day.

i can relate to this in a certain way...reminds me of my high school sweetheart...
school and distance created an end to us....but it was similar to this...
like a moment caught in time...total affection...the carriage, the slippers...the intense time, but then midnight struck...
and it had to end.

Oh my, that's so sweet. I loved reading this.
Sadly most of those hard time crushes come to an end. But sometimes they just turn into a beautiful memory, worth remembering about.

Using "cinderella shoes" as a symbol for going to sleep, escaping reality, & dreaming oneself into a place where one would rather be . . . great work! I could follow this dreamscape escape easily & I could see this being not always the bedtime kind of dreams . . . I could see this as a person going out in her cinderella shoes, being among people, but living in her dream world instead of the real world. Now that everyone is on lockdown becuz of this virus, this poem could symbolize the way we wish we were someone else, living our lives among others again! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

How I met my wife
I was at a prize presentation she was receiving a prize
We met at a later day another presentation We had a dance - she was whisked away by her friends
A friend came with two tickets to a dinner dance, 'go to this address and ask her to come with you.
I got in my van (still in my dirty coveralls) Her parents weren't very impressed
My dream became reality

We were both well known (in cycle racing circles) county wide & it transpired we were both looking to find each other > the girls engineered it for us

Dreams are like that
like reading a novel - once read it passes into a place in memory - to return at odd times when the file holding it is recalled in passing (looking at the memory as a stack of files in chests or in a computer)
