And so

And so

A Poem by Intothemilkyway

I told you i can give you the world
What i meant was that,
I was your world.
But you wouldn't take it

Wasted time
It was?
Was it?
Or maybe it wasn't?

This is thought-provoking. I've always felt grand love promises are nonsense. People change & life deals shots out of the blue, so spare me the need to blow you off as you promise me the world. This poem started out like a spoof on that, due to my inherent snarky attitude about it. But by the time I finished, I was sympathetic toward the promiser. Your poem illustrates the optimistic heart (albeit blind) behind such ridiculous sounding proclamations between lovers (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
