You

You

A Poem by irishdreamer

You came to me in a world of strife

Like a beacon shining bright

And held me close within your arms,

As we found true love that night.

Your presence still lifts my spirit.

And your voice it speaks with grace

Sweet loving charms surround me

Each time we both embrace.

Even now I can whisper and tell you

Of my troubles and my fears

Then I feel your arms around me

And together, we blend our tears.

For we shall always be like this

Until time has finally beckoned

Keep my words within your heart

‘You were never second.’

A wonderfully romantic poem, filled with real emotion rather than sentiment. The last line's a killer.
