The Final Poem of 2017

The year now ending and a new one beginning;

And this poet is happily grinning.

I know some what is to come;

Before this New Year has begun.

I am excited for new possibilities;

And to see others new responsibilities.

Goals to achieve if I work and believe,

And more joy than a poet can conceive.

I cannot wait for this time next year;

As my vision becomes so crystal clear.

I am so thankful I did survive,

Another year to prove that I am alive.

For tonight I will reflect on the past,

And how this year has gone by so fast.

I think to myself where this year went,

As I ready myself for another quick sprint.
