Nature Vs. Nurture

Nature Vs. Nurture

A Poem by Rose Masen
"

....Cause and effect of this irrational thing we perceive as life...

"
Alone- once and for all;
Not a choice- just let the pieces fall.

Nothing fits, vision is obscured;
My soul but a shadow, this life but a blur.

Night returns for me, light is turned out
My heart turned to stone- part of me shut down.

Time has now paused- the ticking has gone mute;
Fear engulfs every crevice, silence quickly ensues.

Movements in slow motion, my being's constricted;
Alternate reality, my thoughts, now, have drifted.

Air swirling protectively- it's alarmingly quiet;
Pinning me harshly, though I'm calmed by it.

Darkness' color changes; charcoal stains the sky's face;
Nature has now wilted; my paralyzed body- now my saving grace.

All breathing is now slowing, I feel the caving of my chest;
One last beat; punctured heart- permanently putting me to rest.

DEEP, and nicely described emotions you feel...the pain, at times, can make us or break us, to either be a better person, or simply not. Peace be with you. :)
