Mamo

Mamo

A Poem by James Probert
"

Recently my grandma passed away. This is my tribute to her.

"
I fight back the tears 'cause
I don't want to cry
It's so unexpected
The way you just died
The pain you were feeling
Just took you away
And left behind a vast hole
In your wake.
I will not pretend that
Our paths were aligned
I always assumed that
There would be more time
But here we are now
And you are just gone
My regrets are too many
And my grief is too strong

I wish I had power
To bring back her light
To shine it on those
Who miss it tonight
I wish I could turn
The clock back some years
To show her I loved her
Before we got here
I'm sad she is gone
But I'm glad that she lived
She made the most of her life
Before she got sick
Now you've departed
But we won't let you go
Forever you'll live on
In our hearts Mamo.

Very touching poem. Don't worry, she did know you loved her! I'm sorry for your loss!

A moving poem. The grief and some regrets are quite palpable.
I am sorry for your loss, but this is a beautiful poem you've written to reflect on it
