Forward

Forward

A Poem by James Probert
"

A poem/song about a recent breakup.

"
I'd give anything
To roll back the clock
To a time where our love
Was firm as a rock
I know that it hurts
I'm weighted down too
But as time struggles on
Soon you will move

Forward
And toward
A life that is better
Forward
And toward
A world that is fresher
Forward
And toward
A place made of light
Forward
And toward
Where I'm not a blight

Together was good
But now you'll be great
I was holding you back
From a much better fate
You deserved the whole world
But I'm not that dude
And now that I'm gone
I'm sure that you'll move

Forward
And toward
A love that's unmatched
Forward
And toward
A man who loves back
Forward
And toward
The end of the road
Forward
And toward
A place to call home
