Good Day

Today, was a wholesome day.

For fear did not stand in my way.

A day of remembrance and a humble acceptance.

A righteous day.

Tomorrow's burdens are yet unknown.

Yesterday's sorrows fully sown.

A lightsome path today is known.

A loving day, I call my own.

A brief, apparently simply poem that conveys a mighty truth. The speaker is stating the virtue of living in the present, unbound by the pains of the past, uncowed by future possibilities. The now is the only thing that really exists, all the rest being shadows. Only today is real. Well done.

Contentedness is the essence I derive from these words. Not overjoyed, not sorrowful, content, an understanding that nothing is guaranteed and an appreciation of the good received. An outlook of acceptance but advantages taken of precious moments. That is what I get from this, I could be wrong, either way it is well written and packs much meaning in few words, effective and enjoyable to read.
