We Must Move On

We Must Move On

A Poem by J.
"

To all those I have lost, friends and family. Not long ago and very recent too many lost. May you R.I.P. And thank you to those who have inspired once again in me, to hope and write again.

"
In this little bottle, I carry something I hold close within
A many times over broken heart that truly wants to mend
Even words spoken, are a weapon to the soul
I ask myself if this is something I deserve in part or whole

Against these windows salty drops of pain frequently fall
And they reflect the images of memories past
Cascading over the apples that peak a trying smile
Being not without wiles to archive in file

Periodic memorials with wounds empathetic
I breathe again to find myself sympathetic
To a burdened heart I bear unattended
Yet to become completely mended

Then I release for closure a simple symbol
Overwhelmed thumping so nimble
It's meaning and colorful purpose, beyond measure
For each you knew, your life a valued treasure

I do not look to find
To once again be left behind
And I am here still
Inspired again finally to use my quill

Taken away by where I belong
To inspire in return, as muse to another song

Life is too short to even think to begin giving up on oneself. And even shorter not to live at all.
