Heart On My Sleeve

Heart On My Sleeve

A Poem by Julio Cesar Ruiz
"

I wrote this for my British Literature class.

"

I've never known, I've never seen,

Someone so pure, someone from a dream,

To think I see, to know I feel,

To be able to hold you, to know that you're real,

They say roses have thorns, that blood gives them red,

They say that you're dangerous, that I'll end up dead,

But I care not, cause I know love is true,

I'll face heaven, I'll face hell to be with you,

For you see, my love, that I'm a victim of your charms,

I'll protect you from danger, I'll shield you in my arms,

Take my hand, love, and show me your eyes,

I want to see what you see, I want to be mesmerized,

So now I stand before you, my heart on my sleeve,

will you take it, or will you leave?
