Poem on Lying

Poem on Lying

A Stage Play by John Carver
"

Where you a heavenly dream or a nightmare?

"
MY SWEETEST LIE

As time began our God had his first thought
And it was about you each and every one
He never considered what his next was he forgot
But time doesn't end even if God does when done

I was who he thought of for I and you are the same
You can prophecy and you can do wonders and signs
You can love if you do all there's to love in name
Therefore you can bear fruit and put lives on inclines

Just think of them as your first thought and run
Your life just meeting them and loving them all
You can know what that means to see them when you are done,
A perfect life? There's no such thing after all

But when you fail consider all them you loved
As your first thought was about all of them not you
For the first you gave her gloves that the last may be gloved
And tragic it would be if the first hated you and it's true

Make God your first thought and love him most of all
Then it doesn't matter if you forget them all.
