Pieces

Pieces

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

Here we are
Back at the bottom
Man we've come far
Taken what came

Pieces of a life sorrowed
A lesson yet to be learnt
Pieces left to rebuild
Wisdom to be borrowed

Here I am, back where I started
This place full of peace and wonder
Realizing this is where I should be
I hope the tranquility never ends

Pieces of a life I once knew
Now lay by strange others
To keep few or go new

Memories play in shards
Pain and loss reflected
The slam of the wall
The shattered mirror scattered

A yearn to learn
Amend broken dreams
The buried truth of me
To again live free

The pieces of this life
Lay before me, scattered
A life once shattered
Now set to rise

I agree my friend. We are always learning.
"The pieces of this life
Lay before me, scattered
A life once shattered
Now set to rise"
The above lines are true. We must fall down to get-up. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

This is so very relatable. It isn't difficult to find ourselves lost and feeling as though we are falling, and the ground is coming fast. That one puffy cloud of hope sits between us and the hard tough road of reality that awaits. So aim for the cloud and sit a spell, gain perspective, to once again, step back into our lives with a much needed, clearer perspective. Hitting rock bottom can be averted if we only reach out for the hand to save us from crashing. There is such truth in your write, my friend. Keep writing and thank you for sharing a piece of your wisdom. :)

Once you hit rock bottom, the only way is up. Like the phoenix you will rise. We do and can learn from our mistakes. We just have to put the pieces of our lives back together. Pleased to meet you. The first poem of yours I have read.
