he pounds nails

he pounds nails

A Poem by Joyce S. Greene
"

a poem about the softness of a working man's heart

"

he pounds nails

and pours concrete all day

then comes home

to touch me with calloused hands

and the softness of his smile

This piece speaks volumes of the rugged men who work to provide, but remember to love deeply. Excellent piece.

Beautifully done! My husband is a working man, too. I know all about those calloused hands and soft smiles. Angi~

There's so much truth in this. I am turned on by working hands. If his hands are well manicured or prettier than my own I feel repulsed. Strange maybe. But it's the labor of love that supports a needy family.
