What's Happened to my Muse?

What's Happened to my Muse?

A Poem by Joyce S. Greene
"

"Only the Shadow knows for sure" . . .

"

All alone, I wonder

what's happened to my Muse

Has he left me for another

or gone on a two week cruise

I admit my poetry

doesn't sing with passion

My words are never stylish,

nouveau nor in fashion

Did he finally conclude

I'm just too plain and boring

Was he dreaming of a poet

more sexy and alluring

Has he found the one

who really turns him on

A mermaid or a siren

who never makes him yawn

I can only pray my Muse

hasn't fallen beneath a tire,

under the wicked witch's spell

or become a Trump new hire

Does anyone have a clue

if my Muse has lost his life

Did anyone see Miss Scarlet

in the Billiards Room with the knife?

While I hope your muse finds his way back to your pen, I enjoyed this a lot, the ending was brilliant.

Well, it was you who provided a fine glass to pour it in.

That's a wise thought, Ron. You're right, of course.
Maybe a little French will help lure him back? Thanks, Kelly.

First of all, great new icon for you! This is an adorable write. If your muse went on a cruise, the least he could do is take you along. The rhyming helped the lines flow easily. Love the references to the game of "Clue" in this, Joyce! If you ask me, your muse is alive and well and living in your house....he might be playing hide and seek, but he showed himself long enough for your to write this one! I enjoyed it. Lydi**

Joyce, you know, you might not want to hear this, but I think "he" must have been lured away by the french in Lydia's poetry! Aha, that's what I'm saying!

My pleasure Joyce and right back at you.
This is a clever piece of work, I love the last verse....

Saucy and subtle, I think that your muse hasn't gone anywhere you didn't wish her to travel......b
